Dr. Timothy G. Gillum
| Dr.
Timothy G. Gillum is a native Texan and attended undergraduate
school at Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor
of Science Degree in Biomedical Science in 1993. He received
his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas-San
Antonio in 1997, where he served as his medical school class
president from 1994 to 1997. From 1997 to 1998, Dr. Gillum completed
his internship training in General Surgery at Riverside Methodist
Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. From 1998 to 2002, he completed
his residency training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery

Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio.During his
5 years of training in Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Gillum developed
a strong interest in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
He followed his residency training with an elective year of
specialized training with the American Academy of Facial Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgery in Indianapolis, Indiana during 2002
and 2003. His plastic surgery fellowship was focused entirely
on cosmetic surgery of the nose, eyes, face, head and neck under
the American Academy of Facial Plactic and Reconstructive Surgery
(AAFPRS), with an Indiana University Medical Center affiliation.
Dr. Gillum received his board certification from the American
Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in 2002, and
passed his board exam for the American Academy of Facial Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgery in June of 2003.
Dr.
Gillum has opened a new practice in Marion, Indiana focusing
on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the nose, eyes,
face, head and neck.. Additionally, he operates on numerous
skin cancers, pediatric congenital defects, and scar revisions,
performs sinus surgery, and specializes in the management
of aging skin with chemical peels and laser resurfacing. Dr.
Gillum is actively involved in teaching facial plastic and
reconstructive surgery and is performing research for the
American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Gillum is currently a member of the following organizations:
The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery,
the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery, Indianapolis Medical Society, Texas American Medical
Association, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Gillum
has received the Holt Leadership Award for his innovation
and leadership among his medical peers. Additionally, he travels
to the Dominican Republic to perform reconstructive plastic
surgery on underprivileged children, and participates in the
Face-to-Face Domestic Violence program sponsored by the American
Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Gillum's
interests include sports of all kinds, running, hiking and
aviation. |
